Jeanine Agnant, author of Mommy, Tell me About Haiti is a former teacher, born and raised in Haiti. She moved to the United States in the 1950s and lived in Chicago and New York, with her husband, who was a cardiologist. She studied cosmetology at C.J. Walker's school in Chicago and moved back to Haiti with her husband. She writes books to share her memories about Haiti, the land and the culture with her granddaughter, Josephine, and to connect generations.
